blocks → press to shatter into fragments → press fragments into pickups → click to collect
block SHAPE is material-specific: metal = big chunks, shale/ice = slabs & plates, rock = jointed, dirt = fine. Hold MOUSE on a surface block → it shatters into rough fragments that collide. Hold on a fragment → it becomes a pickup icon (sized to it). Click the icon to collect.
